A TALK ABOUT THE ATTRACTIVE BEACHES IN TERENGGANU

ATTRACTIVE BEACHES IN TERENGGANU

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and good afternoon to everyone here. My name is Noor Arinah Hanis and I would prefer all of you to call me Arinah. Today’s topic would be about ‘The Attractive Beaches in Terengganu’. This topic intrigued me because of the variety of beaches in Terengganu. The beaches in Terengganu is considered as the best beaches in Peninsular Malaysia.  Beach destinations are the idyllic getaway from the daily grind for much of the world. A trip to the beach is the classic idea of a vacation for families, couples, and even singles especially when today’s weather gets pretty hot. Something about lounging on the beach, dipping in the water and listening to the sound of the waves crashing may excite you. The beach is the place to kick off your heels, dance all night, drink and eat a little too much. This is where you come to rejuvenate yourselves away from all of your worries.

Grab on your notebook and pen because I am going to list out tons of attractive beaches in Terengganu! I’m going to start with Bukit Keluang Beach which is located in Besut. It is popular for its beautiful combo of caves, hills and a white sandy beach. At the bottom of the hill, you can have your usual beach activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, wind surfing and swimming. If you’re up for a little adventure, there are caves here for you try out. For your information, the trails are trouble-free and trust me, once you’re at the top of the hill, everything’s are going to be worthwhile because it’s going to take your breath away! Bukit Keluang Beach is bluish and clean thus suitable for any swimming activities.

Next is the Pandak Beach. It is located in Chendering which is 10 minutes away from Kuala Terengganu. This beach is actually very popular among the people who lives here as the outsider doesn’t really know the way to this beach. Even though this beach is considered popular in Kuala Terengganu for its swimming activities, but we also need to remain cautious as the waves can get really big. I want to ask you a question. Do any of you enjoy looking at the sunrise or sunset? Because I do! Just so you know, the sunrise and sunset view here would amaze you and often being the wedding photo shoot spot.

Other than that, we have Batu Buruk Beach which is the closest to the town of Kuala Terengganu. This beach is more suitable for people to hang around and do any recreation activities. Just to inform you that you are not allowed to swim here as the beach’s surface are not appropriate for any swimming activities. This beach offers you clear horizon view, where you are able to spot Redang Island and Kapas Island on clear days, as well as fishermen’s boats and ships. One cannot describe the feeling of just gazing out into the horizon with the breeze blowing and the sound of waves breaking into the beach. It doesn’t matter whether it is weekdays or weekend because this place can get crowded any seconds! The white sandy beach then filled with colourful beach blankets for picnics. With the benefits of open beach and strong breeze, you can find kites in many shapes and colours fill the clear blue sky. If you are lucky, you may get to see some people fly Wau, a Malaysian designed kite in a sort of crescent moon-like shape, also one of the national symbols. Batu Buruk Beach are always be visited by people of all ages and it is accessible for its complete public facilities such as the playground, food court, food outlets and many more! If you fancy, you may go for a horse carriage ride and ATV motor riding.

In addition, we have Penarik Beach. Penarik Beach is a long stretching beach facing the South China Sea. The end of the road runs between the beach & the village where one can relax & enjoy both the tranquility atmosphere & the picturesque scene. The water is crystal clear and the access to the place is not difficult. The only challenge that you might be facing would be having to look for toilet. Penarik Beach is considered as one of the most beautiful beach in Terengganu. The appropriate time to visit Penarik Beach is probably from April until September as it gets bright
and not cloudy. One of the most interesting thing that you have to try here is the ‘Kedai Makan Celup Tepung’ that serves prawn, cuttlefish and many more.

The next one is the Monica Bay or we called it Teluk Mak Nik Beach. It is considered as the most popular hanging out spot in Kemaman. At the end side of the road, there’s a motor cross track. This beach is shady enough for the people to rest calmly. There is also a public facilities such as the rest room and also a mosque for Muslim people to perform their prayer.

Besides Batu Buruk Beach, Teluk Ketapang Beach is a popular spot among the local residents to spend their leisure time with their loved ones. Teluk Ketapang Beach is quite a popular destination for the ICT (Ikan Celup Tepung) or fish fried in batter. ICT is quite a sought after Terengganu fish snack eaten with a chili sauce in the afternoons and people flock here to also enjoy a nice view of the sea. Apart from fish, other seafood snacks fried in batter and the Terengganu staple, keropok lekor and keropok keping are also sold at the string of warongs that make this beach a leisure destination for food.

As a conclusion, every places in Malaysia has their own uniqueness and attractions that contribute to the tourism in Malaysia. For me, the specialty of Terengganu is the beaches here. There are many more that I haven’t mention because I know that most of you must be bored to hear me babbling here in front of you guys. Last but not least, thank you for lending me your ears throughout my talk today. Hoping to see you guys again with a more exciting topic!
